Hi, I’m Hayley, the heart and hands behind The Calm Comb. As a parent, I know the sheer horror of spotting that first mysterious head scratch… followed by the frantic whisper: “Oh no. Is it… lice?” Don’t worry, I’ve been there, survived it, and turned it into my superpower.
I use the gentle-but-mighty wet-combing method and NitNOT serum, a natural, chemical-free treatment that gets the job done without any drama. Whether you need a quick “please just tell me if it’s lice” check or the full de-bugging treatment, I come straight to your home to take the stress out of the situation.
And yes, I’m fully insured and DBS checked, so you can relax while I work my magic.

Head Lice Check 20 Minutes
I offer a gentle, and accurate head lice screening. I carry out a full examination of the scalp and hair, followed by precision combing with the NitNOT detection comb. You’ll receive clear, immediate results, either no lice found or treatment recommended, along with personalised guidance on prevention, hygiene, and aftercare. If lice are found and you choose to proceed with treatment, the £25 head-check fee is at no charge.
Full Lice Removal Treatment short hair 1 hour
I start by applying the NitNOT head lice treatment to dry hair. The serum slows the lice and loosens the egg bonds, making them much easier to remove. I then divide the hair into clean, manageable sections to ensure every area of the scalp is covered. Using a high-quality NitNOT detection comb, I work methodically from the roots to the tips, lifting away lice and eggs with each pass. Every comb wipe is checked carefully to ensure the hair is being thoroughly cleared.
Full Lice Removal Treatment long hair 1 hour

A follow-up visit allows me to confirm that all lice and eggs are gone after your first treatment. I begin with a thorough head check. If I find any lice or eggs and you choose to proceed with treatment, the follow-up fee will cover this. If everything is clear, you’ll only be charged the £25 head-check fee.

Additional Charge
For very long or thick hair, or in cases of severe infestation where extra time is needed, an additional fee may apply. If the appointment goes beyond one hour, each extra 30 minutes will be charged at £20
